You’ll create a safe, structured and engaging environment where students can thrive, develop their independence and build positive relationships.Working alongside teachers, tutors and our wider multi-professional team, you’ll provide personalised support that reflects each student’s individual strengths, needs and goals. You’ll help remove barriers to learning, encourage social and emotional development, and celebrate progress every step of the way.You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to planning and delivering engaging activities, adapting resources and using tailored interventions to help every student reach their potential.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport teachers and tutors in delivering high-quality, inclusive education for students with autismAssist in the implementation of school policies, procedures, and individualised education plansProvide targeted one-to-one and small group support to enable students to access the curriculum with increasing independencePromote students’ physical, academic, social, and moral developmentOrganise and maintain engaging classroom environments, including resources and displaysContribute to the preparation and upkeep of student documentation, such as Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs), Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Communication Profiles, Risk Assessments, and Pastoral Support PlansWork collaboratively with staff to ensure student safety both on and off-site, in line with risk assessmentsContribute to the school’s ongoing development, improvement plans, and wider initiativesAbout YouWe’re looking for someone who:GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at minimum Level 4 (Grade C)Has experience working with pupils with autism and/or challenging behaviourCan work independently and as part of a teamHas strong communication skills, both verbal and writtenIs adaptable, patient, and proactive, committed to helping pupils achieve their potentialAbout UsBaston House School is an independent day specialist school in Bromley, Kent, supporting children and young people aged 5–19 with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and associated needs.
