The Role

As an Autism Support Worker, you’ll work closely with primary‑aged pupils (typically 4‑11 years old) with autism and additional needs. You’ll help create a safe, engaging, and structured environment where children can build confidence, develop key skills, and enjoy learning.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to each child
• Delivering fun, engaging, and age‑appropriate learning activities
• Supporting communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
• Encouraging independence and early life‑skills development
• Helping maintain a positive, consistent, nurturing classroom environment

Qualifications

• Experience with, or a strong interest in, supporting children with autism
• Patient, caring, and enthusiastic about working with young children
• Can build strong, trusting relationships with primary‑aged pupils
• Works well independently and as part of a team
• Passionate about supporting children with special educational needs
