About the Role
Our client, a leader in automated manufacturing solutions based in Derby , is seeking an adept Automation and Controls Engineer to join their innovative team. You will be responsible for the design, programming, and implementation of PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems to enhance production efficiency and operational performance for a variety of clients. This role requires a blend of electrical engineering knowledge and software development skills, with the flexibility of a hybrid working model. Contribute to cutting-edge automation projects and drive technological advancements within the manufacturing sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and program PLC logic controllers for automated manufacturing processes.
- Create and implement Human-Machine Interface (HMI) screens and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
- Specify and select automation components, including sensors, actuators, and control devices.
- Perform system integration, testing, and commissioning of automated solutions.
- Troubleshoot and provide technical support for existing automation systems.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure project success and satisfaction.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in designing, programming, and troubleshooting PLC systems (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell).
- Proficiency with HMI and SCADA software platforms.
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols and networks.
- Experience with robotic systems integration is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication abilities.
