About the Role
Our client is looking for a proficient Automation Electrical Engineer for a contract position based in or remotely serving Belfast . This role is critical for the design, implementation, and support of industrial automation and control systems. You will be involved in projects that enhance operational efficiency and process control across various manufacturing and industrial settings. The successful candidate will have a strong background in PLC programming, HMI design, and system integration, contributing to the modernisation of industrial processes. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced automation engineer seeking a flexible contract role with a reputable organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and program PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and develop HMI/SCADA systems.
- Specify and select industrial electrical components, sensors, and actuators.
- Develop electrical schematics and control panel layouts.
- Perform system integration, testing, and commissioning of automated systems.
- Troubleshoot and provide technical support for existing automation installations.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their automation requirements and provide effective solutions.
Requirements
- HND/BEng in Electrical Engineering or Automation Control.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation and control systems.
- Proficiency in PLC programming languages (Ladder Logic, Structured Text) and HMI software.
- Experience with robotics integration and industrial networking protocols (e.g., Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
