Automation Engineer

About the Role

This role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimising automated systems and processes to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality. You will work closely with production, engineering, and R&D teams to identify automation opportunities and deliver robust solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) logic and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) applications.
• Implement and integrate automated machinery, robotics, and control systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing automation equipment and processes.
• Conduct feasibility studies and propose new automation solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of automated systems into production lines.
• Maintain documentation for automation systems, including programming, wiring diagrams, and operational procedures in Brighton .

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in industrial automation, including PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell) and HMI development.
• Experience with robotics, vision systems, and other automation technologies.
• Strong understanding of electrical control systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts and smart manufacturing principles.
