Automation Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Automation Engineer to join their innovative manufacturing team in Milton Keynes . This role is crucial for enhancing operational efficiency through the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated systems and processes. You will work closely with production and engineering teams to identify opportunities for automation, develop robust solutions, and ensure the seamless integration of new technologies. This position offers a blend of on-site and remote work, providing flexibility for the right candidate to contribute significantly to our client's technological advancement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automated control systems for manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Program and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and Robotic systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define automation requirements and integrate new systems.
• Perform root cause analysis of automation failures and implement effective solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including control system designs, programming logic, and operating manuals.
• Stay abreast of new automation technologies and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and supporting industrial automation systems.
• Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI development.
• Experience with robotics, motion control, and industrial networking protocols.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with a willingness to travel occasionally.
