Automation Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an innovative Automation Engineer to join their advanced manufacturing facility in Bristol . You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems and machinery to enhance production efficiency, reduce operational costs, and improve product quality. This role requires a strong understanding of robotics, PLC programming, and industrial control systems. You will play a critical part in the technological advancement of our manufacturing processes, driving innovation and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automated control systems for manufacturing processes.
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and robotic systems.
• Integrate new automation equipment with existing production lines and systems.
• Develop and execute test plans for automation projects, ensuring functionality and performance.
• Provide technical support and training on automated systems to maintenance and operations staff.
• Identify opportunities for automation to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in industrial automation, PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), and HMI development.
• Knowledge of robotic systems (e.g., Fanuc, KUKA) and their integration.
• Familiarity with industrial networks and communication protocols.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Experience with CAD software for automation design is a plus.
