About the Role
Our client is looking for a talented Automation Engineer to join their team in Glasgow . This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency and product quality. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical background in automation and a passion for optimizing complex industrial systems. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement automated manufacturing systems using PLC, robotics, and other control technologies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automated equipment and processes to ensure minimal disruption to production.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, including electrical schematics, programming code, and operating manuals.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to select and integrate automation solutions.
- Conduct feasibility studies and pilot projects for new automation technologies.
- Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance personnel on automated systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering , or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Automation Engineer or in a similar role involving industrial automation.
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI development, and robotics.
- Experience with sensor technology, motion control, and industrial networks.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively on-site and as part of a collaborative team.
