About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Automation Technician to join their industrial operations team in Birmingham, West Midlands, UK . In this hands-on role, you will be instrumental in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving automated systems within our manufacturing facility. Your expertise will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of production lines, directly impacting output and quality. Key Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, and maintain automated machinery, including robotics, PLC systems, and conveyor belts.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic issues within automated production systems.
• Perform regular diagnostic checks and preventative maintenance to minimize equipment failures and production stoppages.
• Assist in the upgrade and modification of existing automation systems to improve efficiency and performance.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and P&ID diagrams.
• Work collaboratively with production teams and engineers to resolve operational challenges and implement solutions.

Requirements

• Experience as an Automation Technician , Maintenance Electrician, or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with PLC programming and troubleshooting (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control circuits, and pneumatic components.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Skilled in the use of electrical testing equipment and hand tools.
• Commitment to safety protocols and efficient problem-solving.
