Automotive CAD Designer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a meticulous and creative Automotive CAD Designer to join their remote team. You will be responsible for creating detailed 2D and 3D models and technical drawings for various automotive components and assemblies. This fully remote position allows you to contribute your design expertise from anywhere in the UK, working closely with engineering teams to translate concepts into tangible designs. You will utilize state-of-the-art CAD software and collaborate digitally, ensuring that all designs meet the highest standards of precision and functionality for our client's innovative automotive projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Create precise 2D and 3D CAD models and detailed technical drawings for automotive components and systems.
• Ensure all designs adhere to industry standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate effectively with automotive engineers and other stakeholders through digital communication platforms to refine designs.
• Maintain and manage CAD data, including version control and PDM systems, ensuring data integrity.
• Assist in the preparation of design documentation, reports, and presentations.
• Support the manufacturing and prototyping teams by providing clear and accurate design information.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a CAD Designer , with a strong portfolio showcasing automotive design work.
• Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes relevant to the automotive industry.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and modeling.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fully remote environment.
• Good communication and collaboration skills for effective remote teamwork.
