Our client is seeking a highly skilled Automotive Chassis Dynamics Engineer to join their advanced engineering department in Oxford . This role is integral to developing and tuning the vehicle dynamics, handling, and ride comfort of next-generation automotive platforms. You will leverage sophisticated simulation tools and conduct real-world testing to optimize chassis performance. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine vehicle chassis systems (suspension, steering, braking) to meet specific performance targets for handling, ride, and stability.
- Utilize advanced simulation tools (e.g., Adams, CarSim) to model and predict vehicle dynamics behavior.
- Plan and execute vehicle testing programs on proving grounds and public roads, collecting and analyzing dynamic data.
- Collaborate with design and development teams to translate performance requirements into effective chassis solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to vehicle dynamics, handling, and ride comfort throughout the development cycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in automotive chassis dynamics development.
- Proficiency with vehicle dynamics simulation software and data acquisition systems.
- Strong understanding of suspension kinematics, steering systems, tire characteristics, and vehicle stability control.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex test data to derive actionable insights.
