Automotive Diagnostic Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Automotive Diagnostic Technician to join their reputable workshop in Newcastle upon Tyne . You will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicle faults, utilising advanced diagnostic equipment and your extensive technical knowledge. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation and safety of our client's customers' vehicles. You will work within a dynamic team environment, supported by state-of-the-art facilities and ongoing training opportunities. Key Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth diagnostic tests on vehicle engines, transmissions, electronics, and other systems using advanced equipment.
• Identify the root cause of vehicle malfunctions and propose effective repair solutions.
• Conduct complex mechanical and electrical repairs, including component replacements and system overhauls.
• Maintain accurate and detailed service records, documenting all diagnoses and repairs performed.
• Communicate technical findings and repair recommendations clearly to service advisors and customers.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive technologies, diagnostic procedures, and manufacturer repair information.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Proven experience as an Automotive Technician , with a strong emphasis on diagnostics.
• Proficiency with OBD-II scanners , oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools.
• In-depth knowledge of various vehicle makes and models, including their electronic and mechanical systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• A valid UK driving license.
