Automotive Electrical Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an innovative Automotive Electrical Systems Engineer to join their team in Cardiff . Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical system architectures, including power distribution, wiring harnesses, and component integration.
• Create and maintain detailed schematics, diagrams, and specifications for electrical systems.
• Perform simulations and analyses to validate electrical system performance and identify potential issues.
• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure the quality and manufacturability of electrical components and assemblies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues during prototype build, testing, and production phases.
• Contribute to the development of testing procedures and validation plans for electrical systems in Cardiff .

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in automotive electrical system design and development.
• Proficiency with CAD software for schematic capture (e.g., Altium, Zuken).
• Strong understanding of automotive networking protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet).
• Experience with functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262) is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a hybrid team.
