About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Automotive Electrical Systems Engineer to join their innovative team in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire . This role operates on a hybrid model, offering a balance between essential on-site development and testing with remote design and analysis responsibilities. You will be instrumental in designing, integrating, and validating the complex electrical systems that power modern vehicles, from power distribution to sensor networks. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical distribution systems (EDS), wiring harnesses, and related components for automotive applications.
- Specify and select electrical components, including connectors, relays, fuses, and sensors, ensuring compliance with automotive standards.
- Utilize electrical CAD tools (e.g., E3.series, Capital) for schematic design, harness routing, and layout.
- Perform electrical simulations and analyses to ensure system performance, reliability, and adherence to power budgets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and control engineers, for seamless system integration.
- Develop test plans and procedures for electrical systems and components, and oversee testing activities.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience in automotive electrical system design and development, including wiring harness design.
- Proficiency with electrical CAD software and experience in creating schematics and harness documentation.
- Understanding of automotive electrical architectures, power distribution, and signal integrity.
- Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN).
- Familiarity with automotive standards and validation processes for electrical components.
