About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Automotive Electrical Systems Engineer to join their technical team in Portsmouth . This role is crucial for the design, development, and validation of complex electrical systems within vehicles. You will be responsible for ensuring the seamless integration and optimal performance of all electrical components, from power distribution to sophisticated electronic modules. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical system architectures, including power distribution, grounding strategies, and signal integrity.
• Create and maintain detailed electrical schematics, wiring harnesses designs, and component specifications using CAD software.
• Perform validation and testing of electrical components and systems, including environmental testing and EMC compliance.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software developers, and suppliers to ensure the integration of electrical systems meets functional and performance requirements.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues during vehicle development and production phases, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of electrical system design standards and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in automotive electrical system design and development.
• Strong knowledge of automotive electrical components, connectors, wiring harnesses, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency with electrical CAD tools (e.g., Capital, E3.series, Zuken) and simulation software.
• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN) and diagnostic procedures.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
