About the Role
Our client, a progressive automotive service provider in Norwich, Norfolk , is looking for a specialized Automotive Electrical Systems Technician . You will diagnose, repair, and maintain complex electrical and electronic systems in a wide range of vehicles. This role is essential for addressing the increasing complexity of modern automotive electronics, from engine management systems to advanced infotainment and driver-assistance features. You will work within a supportive workshop environment, utilizing cutting-edge diagnostic equipment to provide precise and effective solutions for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair faults in vehicle electrical systems, including wiring harnesses, sensors, and ECUs.
- Service and repair battery systems, alternators, and starter motors.
- Install and troubleshoot automotive accessories, such as audio systems, navigation, and lighting.
- Perform diagnostics on complex electronic control units (ECUs) and vehicle networks (e.g., CAN bus).
- Utilize diagnostic software and equipment to identify electrical issues and recommend solutions.
- Keep abreast of new automotive electrical technologies and diagnostic techniques.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Automotive Technician with a specialization in electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of automotive electrical theory and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and scan tools.
- Experience with vehicle networking systems (CAN, LIN) is highly desirable.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Auto Electrics) are a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to diagnostics.
