About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Automotive Mechanical Engineer to join their innovative team based in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role involves the design, development, and testing of mechanical components and systems for a range of automotive applications. You will contribute to projects from concept through to production, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and manufacturability. Key Responsibilities
- Design and engineer mechanical components and systems using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA).
- Perform structural analysis, stress testing, and simulations to validate designs.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective.
- Develop and implement test procedures for new and existing automotive components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues that arise during the design or production phases.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in automotive engineering and materials science.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive mechanical design.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and simulation tools.
- Strong understanding of material properties, manufacturing processes, and vehicle dynamics.
- Experience with DFMEA and other quality assurance methodologies.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
