About the Role
Our client is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Automotive Mechanical Engineer to join their research and development team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role focuses on the design, development, and testing of innovative automotive components and systems. You will contribute to projects aimed at improving vehicle performance, efficiency, and durability, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems for automotive applications, utilizing CAD software.
- Conduct engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, and vibration analysis, to validate designs.
- Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
- Plan and execute physical testing of prototypes and components, analyzing results to ensure performance targets are met.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible for production.
- Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues that arise during development or testing phases.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in mechanical design and development within the automotive sector.
- Proficiency in using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD).
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other simulation tools.
- Strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and automotive systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
