Our client is looking for a competent and reliable Automotive Mechanical Technician to join their well-established service center in Reading . You will be responsible for performing a wide range of mechanical repairs and maintenance on various vehicle makes and models. This role requires a thorough understanding of automotive mechanics, strong practical skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. You will work within a team of experienced professionals, contributing to the workshop's reputation for excellence and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, filter replacements, and inspections.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults related to engines, transmissions, braking systems, and suspension.
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and identify potential issues before they become major problems.
• Use workshop equipment and tools safely and effectively.
• Accurately record all work performed, parts used, and time taken for each job.
• Liaise with service advisors to communicate findings and repair recommendations.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Automotive Mechanical Technician .
• Solid knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems and components.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and hand tools.
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Relevant automotive technical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3).
