Automotive Parts Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and organised Automotive Parts Manager to oversee their parts department in Glasgow . This role is essential for ensuring the efficient operation of the workshop by managing inventory, sourcing parts, and leading a dedicated team. You will be responsible for maintaining optimal stock levels, controlling costs, and building strong relationships with suppliers to support the sales and service departments effectively within the automotive industry .

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the automotive parts department, including inventory control and stock management.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimise stock levels, minimise obsolescence, and improve order fulfillment rates.
• Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and reliable delivery of parts and accessories.
• Lead, train, and motivate the parts department team to achieve departmental targets and provide excellent customer service.
• Maintain accurate records of all parts transactions, sales, and inventory movements using the dealership management system.
• Liaise closely with the service department to ensure timely availability of parts for repair orders.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a similar role, such as Assistant Parts Manager or Parts Advisor, within the automotive sector .
• Strong knowledge of automotive parts, systems, and suppliers.
• Proven experience with inventory management systems and stock control procedures.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage budgets and control departmental expenditure effectively.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and supplier relationship management.
