About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Automotive Powertrain Engineer to join their innovative research and development team in Oxford . This role will focus on the design, development, and testing of advanced powertrain systems, including internal combustion engines, electric powertrains, and hybrid configurations. You will collaborate with a talented group of engineers to push the boundaries of performance, efficiency, and emissions reduction in future vehicles. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop key components of automotive powertrain systems, including engines, transmissions, and electric drive units.
- Conduct performance simulations and analysis using specialized software (e.g., GT-SUITE, MATLAB/Simulink).
- Plan and execute experimental testing of powertrain components and systems, analyzing results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system integration, calibration, and validation.
- Contribute to the definition of powertrain architecture and technology roadmaps.
- Ensure compliance with emissions regulations and fuel economy standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in automotive powertrain development or a closely related field.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, combustion engines, electric motors, and battery systems.
- Proficiency in powertrain simulation tools and data analysis software.
- Experience with vehicle testing and validation procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
