About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Automotive Powertrain Engineer to join their advanced engineering team, offering a hybrid working model based in Oxford . This role focuses on the design, development, and optimization of internal combustion engines, hybrid, or electric powertrains for future vehicle applications. You will be involved in performance analysis, calibration, and testing, ensuring compliance with emissions regulations and performance targets. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop components and systems for internal combustion, hybrid, or electric powertrains.
• Conduct performance simulations, analysis, and calibration using specialized software.
• Plan and execute powertrain testing on dynamometers and in vehicles, documenting results thoroughly.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure powertrain integration and performance meet vehicle requirements.
• Optimize powertrain efficiency, emissions, and drivability characteristics.
• Stay current with emerging powertrain technologies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• Significant experience (6+ years) in automotive powertrain design, development, or calibration.
• Proficiency with powertrain simulation tools (e.g., GT-POWER, MATLAB/Simulink).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, combustion principles, and vehicle dynamics.
• Experience with hybrid or electric vehicle powertrains is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
