Automotive Quality Assurance Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Automotive Quality Assurance Engineer to join their team in Cardiff . You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in automotive components and systems throughout the product lifecycle. This role involves developing and executing comprehensive test plans, identifying defects, and working collaboratively with engineering and manufacturing teams to implement corrective actions. You will play a vital part in maintaining customer satisfaction and upholding the reputation for excellence that our client is known for, contributing to a hybrid work model that balances on-site collaboration with remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement detailed test plans and test cases for automotive components and software.
• Conduct rigorous testing, including functional, performance, reliability, and integration testing.
• Identify, document, and track defects using bug tracking systems, providing clear and concise reports.
• Collaborate with design, development, and manufacturing teams to resolve identified quality issues.
• Analyze test results and provide comprehensive reports on product quality and performance to management.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies within the automotive sector.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience in quality assurance or testing roles, preferably within the automotive industry.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with automotive standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) is advantageous.
