About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Automotive Service Technician to join their modern workshop in Reading . This role is central to delivering high-quality vehicle maintenance and repair services to their valued customers. You will perform a variety of tasks, from routine servicing to more complex diagnostic and repair work, utilising state-of-the-art equipment and adhering to manufacturer standards. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a strong technical aptitude, a commitment to accuracy, and a desire to grow their career within the automotive service industry, contributing to the workshop's reputation for reliability and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, fluid checks, brake inspections, and tire rotations.
• Conduct diagnostic tests to identify mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles.
• Execute repairs and replacements of vehicle components, adhering to manufacturer specifications.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment and tools to ensure accurate fault finding and efficient repairs.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.
• Keep accurate records of all work performed, including parts used and time spent.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Automotive Service Technician or Mechanic.
• City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 qualification in Automotive Engineering or equivalent.
• Familiarity with diagnostic equipment and a strong understanding of vehicle systems.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• A valid UK driving license is required.
