About the Role
Our client is searching for a talented Automotive Software Developer to join their innovative team on a contract basis, remotely. You will play a vital role in developing and implementing embedded software solutions for next-generation automotive systems, including infotainment, driver assistance, and vehicle control units. This is a remote-first opportunity, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere while collaborating closely with a dynamic engineering group. You'll be at the forefront of automotive technology, working on challenging projects that shape the future of driving in the Bradford region and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test embedded software for automotive electronic control units (ECUs).
- Implement software according to automotive standards (e.g., AUTOSAR, MISRA C/C++).
- Integrate software components and ensure seamless communication between different vehicle systems.
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization of software modules.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers and system architects to define software requirements.
- Document software designs, implementations, and test procedures thoroughly.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in embedded software development, with a focus on C/C++.
- Familiarity with automotive software development processes and tools.
- Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles and debugging techniques.
- Excellent remote collaboration and communication skills are crucial for this role based in West Yorkshire .
