About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented Automotive Software Engineer specializing in Embedded Systems to join their innovative team in Birmingham . You will be responsible for developing and integrating critical software for next-generation automotive control units, infotainment systems, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). This role requires a strong understanding of real-time operating systems, embedded C/C++, and automotive communication protocols. You'll work in a collaborative environment, contributing to the future of automotive technology and ensuring the safety and performance of our client's vehicles. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test embedded software for automotive applications, focusing on reliability and real-time performance.
- Implement and optimize software using embedded C/C++ , ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Integrate software components with hardware, utilizing automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
- Debug and troubleshoot software issues, perform unit testing, and contribute to system-level testing.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers, systems engineers, and validation teams to define software requirements and ensure successful product delivery.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience developing embedded software, preferably within the automotive industry .
- Strong proficiency in embedded C/C++ programming and experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet).
- Understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
