Automotive Systems Integration Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and skilled Automotive Systems Integration Engineer to join their team based in Southampton . In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless integration of various electronic and mechanical systems within vehicles. You will work closely with multiple engineering disciplines to define interfaces, troubleshoot compatibility issues, and validate the overall system functionality. This position requires a strong understanding of automotive architectures and the ability to manage complex interdependencies, contributing to a hybrid work environment that fosters collaboration and flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and manage system interfaces between different automotive subsystems (e.g., powertrain, chassis, infotainment, ADAS).
• Develop system integration plans and strategies to ensure smooth and efficient development.
• Conduct system-level testing and validation to identify and resolve integration issues.
• Collaborate with component engineers and software developers to ensure compatibility and optimal performance.
• Document system architecture, interfaces, and integration processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues arising from the interaction of multiple vehicle systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in automotive systems engineering and integration.
• Solid understanding of automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet).
• Experience with system modeling and simulation tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to work effectively with diverse engineering teams.
