About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Automotive Systems Integration Engineer to join their team in Sheffield . This role is vital for ensuring that various automotive subsystems, including powertrain, chassis, electronics, and software, work together seamlessly to meet performance and functional requirements. You will be responsible for defining interfaces, managing integration testing, and troubleshooting complex interactions between different vehicle components. Working in a hybrid model, you will collaborate with diverse engineering disciplines to bring advanced automotive features to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and manage interfaces between various automotive subsystems (e.g., engine control, braking systems, infotainment).
- Develop and execute system integration test plans to verify functionality and performance.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve integration issues between hardware and software components.
- Collaborate with subsystem engineers to ensure compatibility and optimize overall system performance.
- Document system architectures, integration strategies, and test results.
- Contribute to the definition of system requirements and specifications for new vehicle platforms.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in systems engineering or integration, preferably within the automotive industry .
- Understanding of various automotive subsystems and their interactions.
- Experience with diagnostic tools, data logging, and analysis of vehicle communication networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
- Familiarity with AUTOSAR or similar automotive software architectures is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
