About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Automotive Systems Integration Engineer to join their innovative team in Plymouth . This hybrid role involves ensuring the seamless integration of various automotive subsystems, such as powertrain, chassis, electronics, and ADAS, into cohesive and functional vehicle architectures. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams, troubleshooting complex interactions and validating system performance. The ideal candidate possesses a broad understanding of automotive systems, strong analytical skills, and experience in integrating and validating complex automotive technologies. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the integration of automotive subsystems, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance of the overall vehicle system.
- Develop and execute integration test plans and procedures for various vehicle functions and modules.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve integration issues and conflicts between different vehicle systems.
- Collaborate with system architects, software engineers, and hardware engineers to define interface requirements and specifications.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and data logging equipment to analyze system behavior and performance.
- Document integration strategies, test results, and issue resolution thoroughly.
- Support vehicle validation and testing activities, ensuring all systems function as intended under various operating conditions.
- Liaise with suppliers to resolve integration challenges related to third-party components.
Requirements
- Degree in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in automotive systems engineering, with a focus on system integration and validation.
- Solid understanding of vehicle architectures and the interaction between key subsystems (powertrain, chassis, body electronics, ADAS).
- Experience with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Automotive Ethernet) and diagnostic tools.
- Proficiency in creating and executing test plans and documenting results.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex technical challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to thrive in a hybrid working model, balancing on-site testing and collaboration with remote analysis and documentation.
