About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and technically proficient Automotive Test Engineer to join their team in Plymouth . You will be responsible for designing, setting up, and executing a wide range of tests on automotive components and systems to ensure they meet performance, durability, and safety standards. This hands-on role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively within a dynamic testing environment. You will play a crucial part in validating the quality and reliability of automotive products before they reach the market, contributing to the overall success and reputation of our client.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop test procedures and protocols for automotive components and systems, covering performance, durability, and environmental testing.
- Set up and operate testing equipment, including dynamometers, environmental chambers, and data acquisition systems.
- Execute test plans, collect, and analyze test data, identifying any deviations from specifications.
- Document test results accurately and generate comprehensive test reports.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to troubleshoot issues identified during testing and recommend solutions.
- Maintain testing equipment and ensure calibration requirements are met.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in an automotive testing or validation role.
- Familiarity with various automotive components and systems.
- Proficiency with data acquisition systems and test instrumentation.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
