About the Role
Our client is looking for a meticulous and driven Automotive Test Engineer to join their dynamic team in Sheffield . This hybrid role involves the planning, execution, and analysis of tests for automotive components and systems, ensuring they meet stringent performance, safety, and reliability standards. You will contribute to innovative projects, balancing essential on-site testing activities with remote data analysis and reporting. Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive test plans and procedures for automotive components, subsystems, and complete vehicles.
- Set up and operate test equipment, including data acquisition systems, environmental chambers, and durability rigs.
- Execute tests according to established protocols, meticulously documenting results and observations.
- Analyze test data, identify root causes of failures, and provide detailed reports with recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with design and development engineers to address test findings and validate design changes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and customer-specific requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive) or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive testing and validation.
- Proficiency with data acquisition hardware and software (e.g., NI, Vector tools).
- Experience with various testing methodologies, including environmental, durability, performance, and NVH testing.
- Strong understanding of automotive systems and components.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
