Automotive Test Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Automotive Test Engineer to join their testing facility in Reading . You will be responsible for designing, executing, and analyzing tests for a variety of automotive components and systems to ensure they meet performance, durability, and safety standards. This role requires a hands-on approach and a strong understanding of testing methodologies and equipment. You will work collaboratively with design and engineering teams to validate product integrity and contribute to the continuous improvement of automotive technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop test plans and procedures for automotive components, systems, and vehicles.
• Set up and operate various testing equipment, including dynamometers, environmental chambers, and data acquisition systems.
• Conduct tests according to established protocols, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Analyze test data, identify deviations from specifications, and prepare detailed test reports.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot issues identified during testing and recommend solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience in automotive testing and validation.
• Familiarity with data acquisition systems and test automation software.
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles and material science.
