AV Field Service Engineer
Location: York, Yorkshire (SCC operates hybrid working, a mix of office and home working).
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary Package: Competitive salary plus large company benefits, a broad flexible benefits scheme, and 2 paid-for volunteering days a year.
Hours: 9.00 am – 5.30 pm Monday – Friday

Role Purpose
The role of the AV Field Service Engineer is essential in providing SLA’s to current Service clients. The engineer will be based in the North of England and work alongside a team of engineers to attend customers’ premises to assess and repair faults within the agreements with SCC.
The position requires an individual who can identify and provide solutions to faults with equipment or carry out equipment servicing, assess whether to repair equipment on site or RMA, build and maintain positive relationships with clients, and deliver high standards of customer service. Flexibility and occasional overtime are required.
Responsibilities are carried out within established contractual Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This role plays a pivotal part in enhancing overall productivity and user satisfaction through efficient and reliable onsite services.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend service calls and maintenance visits, including overseas and out‑of‑hours service.
- Identify and provide solutions to faults with equipment.
- Conduct meeting room checks to ensure all equipment functions correctly.
- Deliver a high‑quality service experience to users and customers.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients.
- Fault‑find and resolve AV/VC problems.
- Provide accurate site surveys for SLA’s.
- Update tickets with correct information in real time.
- Maintain all PPE and safety equipment issued.
- Escalate issues to the team manager where required.
- Provide dynamic risk assessments when required.
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in servicing and repairing AV equipment.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot both hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Experience in delivering exceptional customer service and a positive, professional experience for customers.
- Excellent communication at all levels.
- Ability to work under pressure, both individually and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work outside regular hours if required.
- Ability to gain security clearance.
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Good time‑management skills.
