Aviation Safety Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Aviation Safety Manager to lead their safety initiatives. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to shape and implement safety strategies across the organization from anywhere in the UK. You will be responsible for developing and managing the Safety Management System (SMS), promoting a strong safety culture, and ensuring compliance with all relevant aviation safety regulations. This role demands exceptional leadership, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of aviation risk management, working proactively to enhance safety performance and foster a reporting culture throughout the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the company's Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with regulatory requirements (e.g., EASA, ICAO).
• Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety performance monitoring.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs to all levels of staff to promote a positive safety culture.
• Investigate safety occurrences, analyze root causes, and recommend effective preventative measures.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure compliance with all applicable aviation safety legislation.
• Champion safety initiatives and foster an environment where safety is prioritized by all employees.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in aviation safety management , with a proven track record in SMS implementation.
• Strong understanding of aviation regulations, risk management principles, and safety investigation techniques.
• Relevant degree in Aviation Management, Safety Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting.
• Experience in developing and delivering safety training is highly desirable.
