About the Role
Our client seeks a meticulous and dedicated Aviation Safety Officer to join their team in Cardiff . This role is integral to ensuring the highest standards of safety across all aviation operations. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety management systems, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a robust safety culture throughout the organization. This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work both remotely and from our Cardiff base, allowing for direct engagement with operational teams while maintaining personal work-life balance. You will play a crucial part in maintaining compliance and enhancing the safety performance of our aviation activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the company's Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments of aviation activities and facilities.
- Investigate aviation safety incidents and occurrences, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Promote a positive safety culture through training, awareness programs, and engagement with all staff.
- Monitor safety performance indicators and report on trends to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international aviation safety regulations .
Requirements
- Proven experience in aviation safety management, with a strong understanding of SMS principles.
- Knowledge of relevant aviation legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in conducting incident investigations and risk assessments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
- Relevant professional qualifications or certifications in aviation safety are highly desirable.
