Aviation Safety Officer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and diligent Aviation Safety Officer to join their operations based in Bradford . This role is fundamental to ensuring the highest levels of safety across all aviation activities, encompassing regulatory compliance, risk management, and the promotion of a robust safety culture. You will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and procedures, conducting audits, and investigating safety incidents to prevent future occurrences, thereby safeguarding personnel, assets, and the public.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's Aviation Safety Management System (SMS).
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all operational areas.
• Investigate aviation safety incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Promote safety awareness through training programs, safety briefings, and communication campaigns.
• Liaise with aviation regulatory authorities to ensure continuous compliance with all applicable safety standards.

Requirements

• Significant experience in aviation safety management, preferably within an airline or aviation services company.
• In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations (e.g., EASA, CAA) and safety management principles.
• Proven ability to conduct effective safety investigations and risk assessments.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and reporting skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Aerospace, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
