Aviation Safety Officer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and proactive Aviation Safety Officer to join their established team in Leeds , operating on a hybrid model. You will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing the safety culture and management systems across the organization. This role involves conducting safety audits, investigating incidents, and developing preventative strategies to mitigate risks within the aviation operations. You will work closely with management and operational staff to ensure compliance with all relevant aviation safety regulations and best practices, fostering a safe working environment for all personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the organization's Safety Management System (SMS).
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of facilities, equipment, and procedures.
• Investigate aviation safety occurrences, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Promote a positive safety culture through training, awareness programs, and communication initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable national and international aviation safety regulations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in aviation safety management or a related field.
• Knowledge of safety management systems (SMS) principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with aviation regulations (e.g., EASA, CAA).
• Strong analytical, investigation, and reporting skills.
