Aviation Safety Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and dedicated Aviation Safety Officer to oversee and enhance safety management systems for their operations based in Belfast . This crucial role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with national and international aviation regulations. You will be instrumental in fostering a strong safety culture across the organization, conducting risk assessments, and investigating incidents to prevent future occurrences. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the organisation's Aviation Safety Management System (SMS).
• Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Investigate aviation safety incidents and accidents, preparing detailed reports and proposing preventative measures.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through training, awareness campaigns, and communication initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international aviation safety regulations and standards.
• Maintain accurate safety records and statistics, providing regular reports to senior management.

Requirements

• Proven experience in an Aviation Safety or compliance role, preferably within an airline or aviation organisation.
• Strong knowledge of aviation safety regulations (e.g., EASA, CAA requirements) and best practices in Safety Management Systems.
• Experience in risk management, hazard identification, and incident investigation techniques.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across different departments.
• Relevant qualifications in aviation safety, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
