Aviation Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly competent Aviation Systems Engineer to join their dynamic team in Glasgow . This hybrid role allows for flexible working arrangements, combining on-site analysis and collaboration with remote work. You will be instrumental in the design, development, integration, and testing of complex avionics and aircraft systems. The role requires a thorough understanding of system engineering principles, aircraft electrical and electronic systems, and regulatory requirements. You will contribute to innovative projects, ensuring that our client's aircraft systems meet performance, safety, and reliability standards, working within a collaborative and forward-thinking engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, integrate, and validate avionics and aircraft systems according to specified requirements.
• Develop system architecture, interface definitions, and technical specifications for new and existing aircraft.
• Conduct system testing, performance analysis, and validation activities, both in simulation and on-aircraft.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and flight test, to ensure seamless system integration.
• Document system designs, test procedures, and results in compliance with industry standards and aviation regulations .

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation systems engineering, with a focus on avionics.
• Proficiency in system modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink).
• Strong understanding of aircraft electrical systems, data buses (e.g., ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553), and networking protocols.
• Experience with DO-178C and DO-254 standards is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to work effectively in a hybrid team setting.
