About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Aviation Technical Author to join their technical publications team in Norwich . This role is crucial for creating clear, accurate, and compliant documentation for aircraft maintenance, operations, and systems. You will work closely with engineers and subject matter experts to translate complex technical information into user-friendly manuals and guides. This hybrid position offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to aviation safety and efficiency by ensuring high-quality technical documentation within a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and maintain a variety of technical documents, including maintenance manuals , flight manuals, service bulletins, and technical guides.
• Ensure all documentation complies with relevant aviation regulations (e.g., EASA, FAA) and industry standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and operations teams to gather information and ensure technical accuracy.
• Utilize specialized authoring tools and content management systems to produce and manage documentation.
• Review and revise existing documentation to incorporate changes, updates, and improvements.
• Manage document version control and distribution to relevant stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development and standardization of documentation processes and templates.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Technical Author , ideally within the aviation, aerospace, or related engineering sectors.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with technical documentation standards and principles.
• Experience using technical authoring software (e.g., Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare) is highly desirable.
• Ability to understand and interpret complex technical information and present it clearly.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
