Avionics Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Avionics Systems Engineer to contribute to their innovative projects in Glasgow . This role involves the design, integration, testing, and support of complex avionics systems for next-generation aircraft. You will work with state-of-the-art technologies, collaborating closely with hardware and software teams, as well as external suppliers, to ensure seamless system functionality and compliance with rigorous aviation standards. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate avionics systems, including communication, navigation, flight control, and mission systems.
• Define system requirements, specifications, and architecture for avionics components and subsystems.
• Conduct system testing, validation, and verification activities to ensure performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues encountered during system integration, testing, and flight operations.
• Ensure all designs and implementations comply with relevant aerospace standards (e.g., DO-178C, DO-254).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, hardware engineers, and airframe designers in Glasgow .

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Avionics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in avionics systems engineering , with a strong understanding of aircraft electronic systems.
• Familiarity with embedded systems, real-time operating systems, and communication protocols (e.g., ARINC, MIL-STD-1553).
• Experience with systems engineering tools and methodologies (e.g., requirements management, model-based systems engineering).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, project-driven environment within the aviation industry .
