About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Avionics Technician to join their operations centre in Birmingham . This role is essential for maintaining the complex electronic systems aboard their fleet of aircraft, ensuring optimal performance and safety. You will be responsible for the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of avionics equipment, working closely with a dedicated team of engineers and technicians. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics and a passion for the aviation sector , contributing to the reliability and efficiency of flight operations through expert technical support.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems and components, including communication, navigation, and flight control systems.
- Perform routine inspections and functional checks of aircraft electronic equipment.
- Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and engineering specifications to perform maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance actions, including parts used and time spent, using the company's maintenance management system.
- Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to ensure timely and efficient resolution of avionics-related issues.
- Stay updated with the latest technologies and procedures in aviation electronics and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Avionics Technician or in a similar role within the aviation industry.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft communication, navigation, and flight management systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, test equipment, and soldering equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and schematics accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Relevant vocational training, apprenticeship, or certification in avionics or electronics.
