Description
Azure SME Architect We are seeking an experienced Azure SME Architect to lead the design, implementation, and governance of enterprise-scale Microsoft Azure solutions. As the Azure Subject Matter Expert, you will provide technical leadership across cloud transformation initiatives, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned to business objectives. Working closely with architects, engineers, project teams, and stakeholders, you will define cloud strategy, establish best practices, and drive the adoption of Azure services, automation, and governance frameworks. You will play a key role in cloud migrations, application modernisation, infrastructure design, and the implementation of DevOps and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver Azure cloud architectures and landing zones.
- Provide technical leadership and architectural governance across projects.
- Lead cloud migration and modernisation initiatives.
- Implement and promote Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Bicep.
- Ensure Azure environments meet security, compliance, resilience, and performance requirements.
- Drive automation, CI/CD, and DevOps best practices using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to develop cloud strategies and roadmaps.
- Mentor engineering teams and act as the escalation point for complex Azure-related challenges.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in Azure Solution Architecture or Cloud Architecture roles.
- Strong knowledge of Azure networking, compute, storage, security, identity, and governance services.
- Experience with cloud migration, infrastructure modernisation, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills.
- Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-305, AZ-104, AZ-500, or AZ-400 are highly desirable.
