Band 4 Patient Pathway Coordinator (CAT Team 1 ENT, Maxillofacial & Plastic Surgery) This is an exciting opportunity to join the Planned Care team as a Patient Pathway Coordinator (PPC). We currently have an opportunity for a Band 4 PPC at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust (RBFT), where we provide a first-class, efficient, pro-active and patient-focused admin service. We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and organized individual to provide specialist admin support to the ENT, Maxillofacial & Plastic Surgeryteam. You will need to be confident working within a team in a fast-paced environment and have good IT skills, be comfortable communicating with patients and colleagues at all levels and work quickly and accurately under pressure. You will be responsible and accountable for consistently and accurately carrying out your duties as well as the provision of a high quality and efficient service, providing this in a confident and courteous way to service users. This is a split-site role providing administrative and pathway coordination support across both the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, and Townlands Hospital, Henley-on-Thames. The post holder works a shift pattern between 08:00 and 18:00, Monday to Friday, ensuring consistent service coverage across both sites.

Main duties of the job The role will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Clinical Team. You will support the CAT in the delivery of a patient-focused service, and be responsible for the processing of general admin duties, answering the telephones to patients, other healthcare providers and internal staff, scheduling of appointments, processing of clinic letters and other administrative duties., Please refer to the attached Job Description and Person Specification for further details of the job role.

This post benefits from previous experience of delivering high levels of customer/patient service, working within an administrative environment, preferable experience within the NHS but this is not essential, using multiple computer systems and managing data (electronic and paper based). Knowledge of the 18 week pathway would also be beneficial. Full compliance with local procedures, deadlines and best practice will be a key part of the role.

• Customer Care or acquired equivalent experience GCSE or equivalent
• Experience of using full range of IT systems including accurate data entry, typing and checking skills
• Ability to use own judgement to resolve problems and queries competently, including those of a sensitive and confidential nature, Experience of using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
• Experience of working in a healthcare setting
• Customer Care experience
• Experience of handling patient/customer queries, Understanding of patient priorities and performance targets related to appointments and waiting times
• Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team, NHS Admin Experience
• Experience of arranging appointments and/or admissions
• Experience of working with patients and providing information regarding their appointments or treatment team, Understanding of patient priorities and performance targets related to appointments and waiting times
