Job Description
Vivid Healthcare are currently recruiting for an experienced Band 6 Oncology Nurse to join a leading private hospital in Guildford.
We are looking for a compassionate, highly skilled nurse with recent oncology experience who can provide a high standard of patient-centred care within a private healthcare setting.
The Role
As a Band 6 Oncology Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering safe and effective nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. You will work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure patients receive excellent clinical care and support throughout their treatment journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to oncology patients
- Support patients throughout their treatment and recovery
- Administer and monitor prescribed treatments and medications
- Monitor patients for treatment-related side effects and complications
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records
- Work collaboratively with consultants and the wider MDT
- Provide emotional and practical support to patients and their families
- Ensure all care is delivered in line with hospital policies and clinical guidelines
- Maintain high standards of infection prevention and patient safety
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration
- Minimum Band 6 equivalent nursing experience
- Recent and relevant oncology nursing experience
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
- Experience working within an acute/private healthcare environment is desirable
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent patient-centred approach
