About Us
Serencroft Care Homes is an independent care provider operating five residential and nursing homes across England, including Gable Court in Romford. We are CQC-regulated and B Corp certified, and we work in partnership with NHS commissioners and local universities to provide high-quality, person-centred care. We're looking for a creative, enthusiastic Activities Coordinator to help plan and deliver engaging activities for the residents and staff who call Gable Court home.
Role Overview
As a Bank Health Care Assistant, you'll provide personal care and support to residents at Gable Court on a flexible, as-required basis. You'll help residents with daily living activities, support their physical and emotional wellbeing, and help ensure the home meets health and safety standards — playing an important behind‑scenes role in the comfort and wellbeing of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Support residents with personal care, including washing, dressing and continence care, in a dignified and person-centred way
- Assist residents with mobility, using appropriate moving and handling techniques and equipment
- Support residents at mealtimes, including assistance with eating and drinking where needed
- Monitor and report any changes in residents' health, wellbeing or behaviour to senior staff promptly
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records in line with home procedures
- Support residents to take part in social and recreational activities
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times
- Promote residents' dignity, independence and choice in all aspects of their care
- Work flexibly across shifts as required, covering absence and additional demand within the home
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Health Care Assistant or in a similar care setting is desirable but not essential
- A caring, compassionate and patient approach to supporting residents
- Right to work in the UK
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
- Good communication skills and a flexible, can-do attitude
- Willingness to work flexibly across a range of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays, at short notice
