Banqueting and Events Manager

About the Role

Our client is recruiting for a proactive and detail-oriented Banqueting and Events Manager to lead their events team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is crucial for ensuring the successful execution of all banquets, conferences, and private events hosted at the venue. You will be responsible for coordinating with clients from initial inquiry through to event completion, managing event logistics, and leading the events staff to deliver seamless and memorable occasions. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hospitality and a talent for creating exceptional event experiences, contributing significantly to the venue's reputation and revenue streams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all aspects of banqueting and event operations, from planning to execution.
• Liaise with clients to understand their requirements, provide detailed proposals, and ensure satisfaction.
• Oversee event setup, service standards, and breakdown, ensuring adherence to quality and safety protocols.
• Manage the events team, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation.
• Control event budgets, manage costs, and maximize revenue opportunities for all events.

Requirements

• Proven experience in event management , preferably within a hotel or venue setting.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with a commitment to outstanding service.
• Knowledge of catering and banqueting operations and event logistics.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.
