Job Description
Base Mechanic
Our client, based in Aberdeen, is looking for a Base Mechanic to join their team on a staff contract basis
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and repair all company equipment to the highest standards, including yard equipment and HYDRO-BOOST diesel pumps.
- Assist with repairs to centrifugal pump ends and replace component parts as required.
- Prepare and carry out Third-Party Release Inspections to ensure HYDRO-BOOST diesel pumps can be successfully mobilised offshore.
- Develop a broad and effective knowledge of mechanical shutdown systems, including overspeed, gas shutdown and emergency-stop systems.
- Ensure calibration and safety systems on equipment are kept up to date and records are filed appropriately.
- Assist with procurement activities for the Mechanical Department.
- Assist in maintaining and improving the Mechanical Bay and stores
- Attend other work sites when required.
- Participate in the workshop on-call rota
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Recognised Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical Maintenance qualification.
- Previous experience working as a Diesel Mechanic.
- Previous experience within an offshore, oil & gas or industrial environment.
- Experience with mechanical maintenance, servicing and repair.
- Knowledge and experience of pressure testing.
- Knowledge of valves and fittings.
- Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
