We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive secondary SEN setting in Chelmsford . This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people develop confidence, improve their behaviour and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with students who may experience behavioural, emotional and social difficulties. Providing guidance, encouragement and consistent support, you will help them manage challenges, develop positive relationships and engage successfully with their education. Based in Chelmsford , you will work alongside teachers, support staff and other education professionals to create a safe, structured and positive learning environment. You may provide one-to-one support or work with small groups, helping students develop important skills such as emotional regulation, communication, resilience and positive behaviour. The successful Behaviour Mentor will be calm under pressure, adaptable and able to build strong and trusting relationships with young people. You will understand that behaviour can often be a form of communication and will be committed to supporting students with patience, empathy and consistency. Experience working with young people with SEN, behavioural needs or social and emotional difficulties would be beneficial. However, the most important qualities are resilience, a positive attitude, excellent communication skills and a genuine desire to help young people overcome barriers.
