Job Description
Milk Education is working with a welcoming primary school in Blyth to recruit a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant for a full-time role starting in September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships with children and supporting them to overcome barriers to learning. You'll work alongside teaching staff to promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and engagement across the school day.
The Role
- Support pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children across the primary age range
- Encourage positive behaviour through consistent routines and encouragement
- Work alongside teachers to implement behaviour support strategies
- Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring sessions
- Help pupils develop confidence, resilience and social skills
- Promote a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment
About You
- Experience working with children or young people in education, youth work, coaching or care
- Calm, patient and resilient approach
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to remain positive in challenging situations
- Passion for helping children achieve their potential
